Hello
i have my opnSense with a WLE200NX a/b/g/n insyde.
the n would be for 5GHz.
but when i scan there is no 5GHz wlan there.
so on the Interface the
[Common wireless configuration - Settings apply to all wireless networks on ath0]
Standard 802.11ng selected
[Network-specific wireless configuration]
the Mode is Acess Point
so a question would be why is this WLAN limited to around 6-8M if I check the Traffic Graph
is there a trick to have more bandwith?
have a nice day

Hi,
i suggest you to choose an external AP for wifi!
For 1,5 years i used my opnsense with internal wifi (Ralink USB). It works but only with 802.11g.
Over one year ago, i also tried to get 5 Ghz wifi to work on my new opnsense box (Atheros 9280 Card). It works too, but the wifi connection lags often (streaming on smart tv)! After several trys to get wifi to work properly i give up! Since this time i use an external AP an wifi works like a charm!
best regards
Dirk
Thanks for your feedback, anybody out there with more positiv feedback?

Try selecting a 5GHz channel
Where exactly - i did select - but not showing up in the scanner
after the update to
OPNsense 19.7-amd64
FreeBSD 11.2-RELEASE-p11-HBSD
LibreSSL 2.9.2
it works fine and the bandwith is now over 10MB.
