I managed to get latest and updated v19.1.5 working. My dashboard GUI looks fine and works but the console is showing something different - see pic. Looks like it is still stuck at booting. I can restart console via GUI but each time it is still stuck at booting. Is that normal? If not I won't "roll out into production" even though it is only for home network.
can you switch your system to UEFI boot? That fixed it for me.

Thanks, I tried UEFI but it won't even boot. In BIOS it is set as LEGACY.
Change the BIOS to UEFI.
and possibly(!) reinstall via UEFI boot so it makes the EFI partition(s).

Did that and that including MBR and GPT as well.
Set primary console to EFI, no secondary console? System: Settings: Administration.

Is that Console Redirection under advance settings?
Section "Console", vt driver should be enabled, primary to "EFI Console", secondard to "None".
Cheers,
Franco

Franco, I looked at all the options but there are no EFI CONSOLE.
Franco, this is another console option.
May be Franco mean that console:
Thanks Antaris, will try that.
What OPNsense installer image are you using?
VGA or Serial?
Antares is right, I meant the GUI....
Thanks,
Franco

Did as you suggested but result the same. Still stuck at booting.
In the console? Or in real life? Can you reach the GUI after some time on one of your interfaces?

I can reach GUI no problems on a laptop connected to opnsense machine. The machine is connected to a monitor via VGA cable (no HDMI option). The scrip on the monitor is stuck at "booting...." while in the background the scrip rolls on silently. After a while I can use the laptop to reach GUI.
I have decided to ignore being stuck at boot since the GUI works fine. Hopefully future upgrades will solve this issue for me.
