Title: Gateway Group with Multiple OVPN clients and port forwarding.
Post by: liwanda on March 21, 2019, 05:27:09 PM
Hi there My name is Liwanda
I currently have 4 open VPN clients to the same box connected to 4 different servers. They are all in a gateway group and round robin. OVPN is single threaded and this allows you get better speeds with multiple connections. From the VPN I currently forward all the traffic to the OVPN address. The issue I am having is when the incoming port forward comes in its going out another one of the OVPN interfaces and that messes with the iptables stuff upstream. This was working fine in 18.1. I cannot for the life of me get it to work. I have tried all the multi-WAN suggestions but I don't see a reply-to option in OVPN clients and the rules associated with it. Everything works fine when I have a single client connected as there is no RR on the outbound.

Thoughts?

Hi,
I do not know where to find the option in the admin menu from the top of my head, but, look for "sticky connection", it should keep your requests from one source going out the same gateway for a vast majority of time. I remember seeing it  somewhere while trying to troubleshoot my issue the other night but don't remember where exactly, I just ticked the box and moved on.

In another order of ideas, would you mind posting a little howto regarding setting up the group gateway and creating the firewall rules for it?

I have the same multi VPN client setup working in pfsense and trying to transition but stuck at creating the firewall rules - when I try to created the rules for the group the "group gateway" is not present in the firewall gateway options.
