Title: Bulk Management
Post by: hugothebas on March 21, 2017, 07:55:41 pm
Hello, does OPNSense has any tool to centrally manage a large number of firewalls in different locations connected to each other through VPN, either commercial or open source?

Our company is working on a project that we will need to deploy firewalls in about 200 schools, so we need to set up a team to remotely manage those firewalls, therefore we need a tool to bulk manage them.

Thanks!

I could be mistaken since I'm new around here but I don't believe so.  You would need something like Meraki, Sophos or Palo Alto, but then you would need to use their hardware at all your endpoints.

Thank you @Nnyan, the major problem here is the cost, the main conditions for this project is that it have to be low cost, the budget is very low, if we can not find any open source tool, we'll have to develop our own management platform using API, shell scripts or something like that.

But thank you!

That would be really cool.  I read something about a similar project that we started over at PF sense but it does not look like it made it off the ground.  I think it was called pfcentral.  I would only assume that they would use the XML configuration file to accomplish it safely
