Title: Where do "Notices" get filed?
Post by: seamus on May 08, 2018, 01:48:26 am
I have a rather awkward method that I must use for the time being to access OPNsense (Ref: https://forum.opnsense.org/index.php?topic=8623.0 (https://forum.opnsense.org/index.php?topic=8623.0)). When I visit the "Lobby" in OPNsense, I see there are a number of "Notices" (see attachment for screen shot), but I am not able to read the entire line.

Where can I find the full text of these Notices; i.e. are they in a log file?

Update to 18.1.7 and reload the firewall rules once and the error disappears at it was addressed properly.

The other fix was to go to Firewall: Settings: Advanced and set "Firewall Maximum Table Entries" to 500000 explicitly, but the aforementioned fix does this automatically now.

FWIW, you can find the full messages in /tmp/notices I think.

Long story short (there are other threads in the forum): the bogon lists we load from https://www.team-cymru.com/bogon-reference.html have recently grown larger than the default FreeBSD table entry size (200000) so that error started happening for users who use IPv6 (or at least have it not explicitly disabled).

Cheers,
