Title: interfaces_wireless_edit.php broken
Post by: hartmut on February 20, 2021, 11:45:20 am
Hi all,

as I did not receive any response to my question in the 20.7 forum, I think this bug ist still unknown and I should link my solution here so the bug (persisting in 21.1) can be fixed: https://forum.opnsense.org/index.php?topic=20956.msg101825#msg101825

Sincerely,
Hartmut

Hi!

No idea, cause I never tried this, but the common message is "don't do wireless directly on the sense, due to lousy drivers in BSD". No idea if this is still valid. Usually it's recommended to use stand-alone APs.  Might also be a safety issue to have wifi in your firewall, as most software around this topic is of mixed quality to say the least. I use @home raspberry pis with bridged wifi adapter as cheap "wifi extension" for some guest / trash LAN...
