Hi, I am running OPNsense 16.7.a_651-amd64, FreeBSD 10.2-RELEASE-p13, OpenSSL 1.0.2g 1 Mar 2016
and tried to do a console update. I get the following error.

What do you think about a following grouping.
a) UPPER CASE
b) lower case

the days we created the Voucher system for monowall we where confronted with two user complaints.
a) using smartphones users (mostly coming from other countries) had to switch often the the layout by pressing "option or alt keys to switch between the keyboard layouts. Some users had even difficulty to find certain characters on their device:
b) some people preferred to enter just numbers or other just small letters
c) depending on the Font (used by a external Voucher printing program) users entered wrong characters (O/0; i/L I/L) 

I have to say, I have not testet your newest feature "reduced character set" I will do it soon.

Finde diesen Punkt völlig unqualifiziert. Wir haben vor einigen Jahren das ganze Voucher System m0n0wall als Opensource zur Verfügung gestellt. Dies wird soweit ich feststellen kann immer noch in pfs verwendet ohne dass darauf hingewiesen wird. Das ist voll gegen die Regeln von Opensource. So wie ich die Opensource Regeln kenne muss der Opensource Code frei zugänglich sein und heruntergeladen werden können.

Vor ca 15 Monaten habe ich versuchsweise von monowall auf pfs gewechselt. Die Stabilität unserer Internetverbindung lies danach sehr zu wünschen übrig. Habe danach wieder einen Fallback auf m0n0 gemacht. Seit einem Jahr setzen wir OPNsense ein und können nicht klagen. Ich meine nicht, dass das eine oder andere (im danach noch jungen opnsense) nicht auf Anhieb voll funktioniert hat. Die Entwickler waren aber immer schnell in der Lage einen Workaround vorzuschlagen. Von meiner Seite ein volles Lob für die Hilfsbereitschaft und die Professionalität der Beitragenden. Jakob

My 2ct. I never use the 192.168.0 and 192.168.1 because many devices fall back to this adress ranges after a factory reset. Some devices have per default dhcp server on. This can cause problems

wenn ich mich richtig erinnere hatte ich das gleiche Problem vor einem Jahr mit dem APU1. Damals war es ein BIOS Problem. Ich wechselte daraufhin auf eine SD Karte. Vorschlag, gehe mal auf die PC engines home page (Support forum) Ich meine das Problem mit der SSD sollte behoben sein mit einem BIOS update. Bin aber nicht 100% sicher.

Hi, I have a very stupid question.
I have a number of local host Hostnames configured under "Services: DHCP: Server"
If I try to access or ping one of this hosts by name I do not get response of this local host. But I do get response by the Server of my provider where my domain is registered. In case I enter this host name under "Services: DNS Forwarder" then the local host responds to the local address doing a ping.
My question is how can I achieve this without entering the host name twice? I have played with the the settings "Services: DNS Forwarder" (Static DHCP and Prefer DHCP) -> no change in behavior

BTW: It was working by "default" as desired with my m0n0wall.

Hi, I do not like to interfere in this tread. But it seems to me worthwhile to mention a Web and URL Filtering function which is in OPNsense for a while. In my opinion this fullfils most needs of home and SME Installations.
It is under;   Services: DNS Tools: Filter

I have seen this as well in the 8.4 BSD version using in monowall. After some investigation I came to the conclusion this is how the DHCP Server works. It seems he has no aging built in.
Any comments to this from the experts?

Ich habe im moment kein gerät vor mir. Guck mal im config unter allgemein advanced. Hatte das gleiche problem vor fast einem jahr. Diese wurde von franco umgehend gefixt mit einem neuen parameter.
