Title: [SOLVED] Boot hangs under vsphere
Post by: mgiammarco on December 18, 2016, 09:07:34 pm
Hi,
I have an opnsense 16.1 installation that works perfectly under vsphere. I have tried to update to 16.7 but at next reboot it always hangs at the line "vmware:....." after mounting disks.
If I enable safe boot it goes until printing interfaces ips then it hangs.
What can I do?
Thanks in advance for any help,
Mario

Which image is this? And it is the same issue with 17.1-BETA?

It is a standard image, I have installed 16.1 from iso some time ago and then upgraded from web interface.
I will try 17.1 beta but I wil install in another virtual machine because I cannot touch the 16.1 installation.

Hi there,

We'll need a bit more debugging info: what version do you run now, which one does it prompt to install, does the same error happen with that last version you are able to upgrade and most importantly, does a 17.1 install work? because if the latter works you can do a config import + install....

Cheers,
Franco
