23.7 Legacy Series / Opn vpn server export issue...
August 05, 2023, 07:04:54 PM
So after upgrading my live router all seemed well but I seem to have a problem with exporting the client config.

Opting for file only everything seems fine but when importing the configuration to the openvpn client there is no option to add user credentials. The log file also reports username/password credentials missing when trying to connect.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

23.1 Legacy Series / ddclient.conf overwritten
July 15, 2023, 06:41:24 PM
Hi,

I have a couple of opnsense qotoms all working well and have used the new ddclient plugin for sometime. I use a custom ddclient.conf file rather than the gui option. This has worked fine with no issues but I now find everytime I reboot either box the ddclient.conf config is lost - file comes blank so I have to load up a copy of the .conf file back to the system.

Any way to fix this as it never use to happen.

Thanks

Hi,

I fired up my old apu and did a fresh install of 22.7. Whilst that all went well I keep getting this error when trying to check from updates from the console and in the gui...

Any ideas?

February 16, 2021, 08:05:19 PM
I have had a few crashes lately after applying the last couple of updates. Some of them have been fatal trap:12 page fault in kernel mode....Is this related to hardware at all? Msata drive in use at the mo.

I always submit the error reports but yet to hear anything back.
Thanks

20.7 Legacy Series / update error - advice please
January 23, 2021, 02:13:56 PM
Hi,

I have a couple or opnsense qotom units and encountered a problem applying the latest update to one of them remotely. The process appeared to hang during the last couple of bits. I was applying the update through the console.

I did reboot the unit afterwards but on running a health audit I am getting the following. Is there anyway to roll the whole patch back or fix the problem without having to rebuild etc?  If I run another update the console reports no updates required.

any help appreciated, thanks

Hi,

Been using opnsense for a little while and wondered if there is any way I can apply updates to my spare units which are for backup in case my main router goes down..

Is it possible somehow to apply updates as and when to these secondary box's across my main network without having to just re-install opnsense on these units from scratch to apply the latest updates?
appreciate this might not be possible but any ideas appreciated.

cheers

Hi,

Have been using opnsense for the last few years and its just great so thank you for all the work.

When I first started using it I used to get the occasional issue with the vpn service where the gui would report the service was not running. I am now getting this again with the version I am on being OPNsense 20.1.7-amd64. My inbound VPN still works even though the gui reports it's not and reports the service is not running either.

Is there any fix/workaround for this please?

many thanks

Examples below from the gui.

OpenVPN

Server UDP:1194 Client connections
Name/Time   Real/Virtual IP
[error]
0   Unable to contact daemon
Service not running?

18.7 Legacy Series / accessing modem gui via wan port
August 11, 2018, 06:08:11 PM
Hi,

I wondered if anyone can help or answer a query I have please.

I wish to use a draytek vigor 130 vdsl modem (uk version) but it only has one Ethernet port. It would be great if I could access the modems gui via my lan but this would mean having to get opnsense to allow me to see the modems lan address via the wan port.

I know draytek routers and some asus routers can do this with the right commands so wondered if it would be at all possible via opnsense. I would like to be able to see the modem stats for my vdsl line without having to disconnet my qotom due to the modems 1 ethernet port...

any help or clarification appreciated.

thanks
