I'm running opnsense on VirtualBox VM using virtio-net adapters. My wan is on a VLAN and traffic shaping is disabled. After upgrading to 16.1, I noticed that download speed from the internet was slow: Less than 1mbps, while with 15.7 I had around 20mbps.
Resetting and restoring my config didn't help. I also tried to configure only the minimum required to get a connection: same thing.
I re-installed 5.7 and download speed came back to normal (20mbps).
Is there any known issue that could explain this behavior?

Can you try to disable the acceleration features under System: Settings: Networking... Hardware CRC, TSO, LRO?

I tried to disable all of them (except the VLAN filtering which seems to be required) and nothing changed.

Did you reboot after making those changes? If you didn't I'd suggest you also do that.

Yes, I did reboot the machine after making the changes.

THX for hint, I had to re-enable all hardware network features.
1. disabled
2. reboot
3. enabled
4. reboot
now I'm back @ full speed

Huh, that is weird going full circle and still fixing it, but if it works I'm happy :)

Unfortunately, these steps didn't change anything for me... I still get slow speed.
