Hi there,

Would it be okay if I removed the duplicated thread?

Please define "every time the IP changes" and what kind of a connection/provider this is. How often does that happen? E.g. Do you get issued a private IP from your ISP but they cycle you around on an external IP pool facing the Internet?

As discussed elsewhere, DynDNS updates can be missed due to the intermediate setup the firewall is in, e.g. their own IP doesn't change, the link status doesn't change and there is no way of telling when to update DynDNS.

They are run once per day as a safeguard measure, but that is far from fast enough for some.

Beginning with 16.7.4, you'll be able to add an entry for "DynDNS" update to System: Settings: Cron[1] to your liking, you can also patch your box with the following shell command:

# opnsense-patch 6f503e56

Cheers,
Franco
