upd & openvpn
« on: March 29, 2019, 08:41:02 am »
Hello comunity!
I am Fran from Spain
A few days ago I am testing several open source firewalls, and opnsense I think it is best option for my production systems for now, but I have a small problem that I do not understand very well.
When openvpn is configured through the udp protocol it does not work, instead of doing it through the tcp protocol, it's works.
I would appreciate it that someone could tell me, if there is any special reason that I have not seen in the documentation.
thanks in advance!

Hola Fran,

The difference in UDP and TCP is just the transport of the tunnel's data. The question is are you trying to replace an existing system or is it a new VPN to be set up?

A likely candidate is a firewall tuned for TCP VPN or a general block for UDP in place.

Cheers,
Franco
